Seeker 2000 SSCarolina I

The SS Carolina was a 380 foot long passenger liner sunk in WWI by the U-151 on "Black Sunday", June 2, 1918, along with five other ships, including the freighter Texel and collier Winneconne. The wreck was discovered and dived in 1995 after extensive research by John Chatterton and John Yurga. The Carolina lies in 250 feet of water approximately 65 miles east of Atlantic City, New Jersey.

This is Gary Gentile the night before the dive. For those of you who have never heard of him before, he's the guy that always takes the bunk next to the food. ;-)
	Everyone sets up their equipment the night before. We left the dock at 11 pm on Saturday night.
When we arrive on site around 6 am, John Chatterton gears up with his Buddy Inspiration rebreather to go set the hook, assisted by Mike Pizzio.

I pass Gary Gentile on my way down. He has a huge lobster in his bag, which turned out to be between 12 and 15 pounds.

Looking down at the wreckage. The whole wreck is very broken up, and is essentially one big junk pile after not only being blown up by the U-151, but also being exposed to the ravages of the sea for 82 years.
